Summary

Trainer volunteers deliver awareness training in Neurodiversity, ASD/ADHD, Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health to VN volunteers & staff.

Detailed description

Voluntary Norfolk received a grant to develop and deliver be-spoke awareness training in Neurodiversity, ASD/ADHD, Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health to one of our services.

We now want to ensure all VN staff and volunteers can benefit. By training key staff and volunteers to deliver some or all the sessions across the organisation we will be able to deliver awareness of these conditions to a significant number of people. The awareness raised will enhance the support delivered to our service users and inform people's everyday interactions with those with these conditions.

As a Trainer Volunteer you will be responsible for:

  • Igniting the interest of staff and volunteer learners
  • Taking an active role delivering the training sessions in your chosen subject or subjects
  • Using a mix of teaching methodologies and tools that include presentations, open discussions, and hands-on exercises
  • Help the team keep existing content up to date, and tweaking courses to suit different delivery modes such as in-person, online, or a mix of both
  • Keeping track of attendance and active participation
  • Gather feedback from learners and where possible implement enhancements based on feedback, and established best practices

Training will be delivered across the county and via online platforms. We will endeavour to limit face to face training as close to you as possible however initial onboarding for the role may have to take place in Norwich.
