Role Profile
The aim of the role is to provide stockroom support for the community team at Swaffham Community Hospital The Stockroom Support volunteer will assist by auditing and replenishing equipment used by the Community Nursing Team, including bandages, creams, scissors, syringes, water and gloves.
Due to the nature of this role, the ability to lift heavy boxes safely may be required; training will be provided.
Volunteering for this role involves an ongoing weekly commitment of approximately 2 - 3 hours per week on a Monday or Friday morning.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary, but will include:
· Moving and opening boxes of new stock and putting new items in the correct place
· Ensuring the cupboard is kept tidy
· Flattening the boxes and taking them to the recycling area
· Helping with stock takes (this would be at a later date, once the volunteer is familiar with the task)
· Reporting any concerns to the supporting staff member
Registration and training
To volunteer in this role you will need to provide two references and complete mandatory training.
