Summary

Keen gardeners are needed to keep the gardens at the hospital tidy and interesting, for the enjoyment of patients, visitors and staff.

Detailed description

As a volunteer gardener, you would be helping with pruning, weeding, deadheading, watering, and, occasionally, new planting.


You can volunteer flexible in this role, at a time to suit you and the staff who will be supporting you, taking into account weather conditions and other environmental factors. 


You will be joining other gardening volunteers to help maintain the ward gardens.


Activities for this role can include:

1.     Weeding borders and pots around the ward.

2.     Deadheading plants as necessary.

3.     Cutting back / pruning as needed.

4.     Watering new plants and as necessary in dry spells.

5.     Occasionally, helping to choose new plants for pots or borders, and planting them.


To volunteer in this role, you will need to provide us with 2 character references and complete some mandatory training before you can start.
