Summary

Support patients in group or individual activities such as quizzes, puzzles, games, music, crafts, simple exercises etc.

Detailed description

The aim of the role is to provide support to patients with activities and simple exercises as part of the ‘Reconditioning the Nation’ campaign. These sorts of activities will empower patients to implement positive changes to their own health and wellbeing.


As an Activity Support Volunteer, you can support patients with activities such as:

  • games
  • music
  • reading
  • arts and crafts
  • simple sports
  • conversations
  • chair and bay exercises
  • and more - if you have any hobbies you would like to share, please let us know


You will need to undertake a DBS check and provide two appropriate character references. All volunteers are required to attend an Induction/Training Session before they may commence in their role.

You will be supported throughout your volunteering by ward staff and your Volunteer Co-ordinator.
