Summary

The World Beer Bar Pop-Up is in Norwich raising funds for two Norfolk Charities and we are looking for volunteers to serve behind bars and other service duties.

Detailed description

The World Beer Bar Pop-Up is an event being held in the temporary absence of the 2024 CAMRA Norwich Beer Festival and will take place on the top floor of the Castle Quarter Shopping Centre in central Norwich between Thursday 31st October and Sunday 3rd November. The event will be open to the public and feature bottled beers from around the world to buy, and drink in this innovative Pop-Up Bar. Opening times are 2pm to 9pm (Thursday to Sunday) with some set up and clear up roles on Wednesday and Monday).

We are looking for volunteers that can do single or multiple sessions before, during and after the event.

The event will be staffed by volunteers from CAMRA, Headway (Norfolk & Waveney) and the BUILD Charity hosting a variety of roles from setting up the bars and filling the fridges with stock, to selling and serving behind the bars, and collecting and selling glassware. There will also be promotional stalls for both charities and opportunities to collect public donations.

There is a variety of roles offered and set out below is a rough description of what the role involves, to help you decide if this is the right role for you.

  • Drivers – (30th Oct & 4th Nov) these will be required to drive a hired van to transport equipment to and from the venue.
  • Loaders – (30th Oct & 4th Nov) These will be required to load/unload the vans with equipment such as bars, bottles, glasses etc
  • Fridge Fillers – these will be required to load bottles into fridges and make sure that they are fully stocked
  • Bar staff – These will be part of a team selling bottled beers to the public
  • Glassware – These will people involved in collecting, washing and distributing glasses for the event
  • Mobile – these will be people who will ensure that tables are clear, breakages cleared up etc

Everyone who volunteers will be invited to a party Saturday evening (9.30-11.30 pm)

These are temporary volunteering roles, although you may decide to engage in one of our other volunteering roles, for which full training and a more more formal recruitment process will be required.

Register your interest and we can send you further details and identify specific time slots that work for you.
