Star Throwers Cancer Support Charity is dedicated to supporting people with cancer and their carers, from diagnosis through to life after cancer

Detailed description

Based in Wymondham, South Norfolk, and serving cancer patients and carers in Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond, we are seeking a new Chair to join our Board of Trustees to strategically lead the Charity, making a major contribution to its future success.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:


« An alignment and commitment to Star Throwers purpose and values.

« Excellent communication and interpersonal skills through effective collaboration.

« A good governance ethos.

« Ability to think strategically and lead Board discussions.

 

We have identified key areas that would benefit from specific expertise and experience and would welcome candidates with the following skill sets to apply:


« finance / accountancy

« health / clinical

« cancer patient or carer by experience

« marketing.

This position is not remunerated but reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred fulfilling the duties of the role are reimbursed.

About Star Throwers

Star Throwers is a cancer support charity based in Norfolk dedicated to supporting people affected by cancer, from diagnosis through to life after cancer.

We provide cancer information sessions to help people to become well-informed about their cancer and all of their treatment options – including clinical trials and we help people to manage the effects of their cancer and cancer treatments through our wellbeing support.

All of the support Star Throwers offers is available to cancer patients and carers (age 18+) with any form of cancer at any stage of diagnosis and is completely free of charge, thanks to our amazing donors and supporters.
