Summary
The museum is seeking someone to maintain a modest area of lawn, as well as a small hedge and wildflower area around the exterior exhibits.Detailed description
The museum is reliant on a large team of volunteers, without whom we would not be able to operate. Some volunteers are 'behind the scenes', devoted to the upkeep of the site, collection, and exhibits, while others take on more public-facing roles. Our volunteers range in age from 19 to 90 and come from all walks of life. We’re an inclusive organisation and welcome those from all backgrounds. We only ask that you bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
The role of groundskeeper is part of our site maintenance team. During the open season (Easter-November) the grounds will need to be maintained to ensure lawns do not become overgrown and visitors can access the exterior exhibits safely. We have plenty of equipment but try to complete most of the work on Sundays/Mondays to avoid disturbing visitors. Over the closed months in winter much of the outside work is in clearing leaves and maintaining flowerbeds ready for the next season. We ask for a commitment of one day a week but this can be flexible to work around the applicant.
For more information and to arrange a visit to the site please respond.
