Summary
Get immersed in Great Yarmouth’s coastal heritage. Learn about Yarmouth’s beaches, fishing heritage, seaside resorts, tourist attractions, circus and more!Detailed description
The project will offer volunteers lots of exciting opportunities such as:
- Talks and guided tours
- Interviews and story gathering
- Heritage guide training – to be able to lead future talks/tours,
- Oral history training – to develop interview skills and create bespoke digital resources,
- Research and accessing archive skills training
No previous experience is necessary- we are just looking for people who want to:
- Raise awareness of coastal change
- Support people to better understand their coastal heritage
- To appreciate, enjoy, connect with and take better care of the historic coastal environment
- Ensure the heritage is preserved for future.
If you are interested, please come to our Welcome Session on Sunday 6th October at the Drill House, York Road, NR30 2LZ. There will be a BBQ and an introduction to the project. We would love for people to come and find out more. If you are unavailable, don't worry we will have lots more sessions coming up.
