Summary

This is a summary of the four different ways you can help this wonderful place.

Detailed description

Hi

I have volunteered in theatres for years, and never have I found one as much fun as this place.

We rely heavily on our volunteers, and if it were not for them, this historic theatre would close. Fortunately, we have many lovely people who can help, but we also need you. We have four teams or squads.

1) The Front of House Team - these people are the face of the theatre staffing the coffee shop and bar. They then go into the theatre to act as Ushers. (They also get to see the shows for free!)

2) Our Spick and Span Squad. - Our volunteers come in over Tuesdays and help with painting, cleaning, sorting out stores -anything to improve the place.

3) Admin Team. These teams work in the morning or afternoon once a week to help the professionals by answering the phone, taking bookings, greeting visitors, and performing other administrative tasks.

4) Gardening Gladiators—The task is in the title: Come and make our gardens look fabulous. This is a new team, so the details of time, etc., are still being worked out.

5) TicToc Trio. We are looking for two people with strong social media skills to join Hannah, our social media staff member, and bring the magic, stories, and excitement of our theatre to the world of social media.

About Norwich Puppet Theatre

Norwich Puppet Theatre is a registered charity. As a result we rely on the support of our community to grow and flourish. Our community and outreach work is focused on delivering arts and cultural experiences to children and young people in Norfolk who experience few engagement opportunities. We develop and promote the art form of puppetry and puppet theatre through performances, workshops and education. For many children we provide their first experience of live theatre and create wonder in them and their peers, parents, guardians and teachers.
For over 40 years Norwich Puppet Theatre’s producing company has created new shows for family audiences, performing in Norwich before touring in the UK and internationally. Our Creative Engagement Team works across the county providing hands-on experiences for schools, charity organisations, and public events. Our work provides a creative context which encourages meaningful, exciting, and inspiring learning opportunities.
