Summary

We are looking for volunteers to lead our Creative Kids group followed by Stay & Play sessions with parents/carers and pre-school children.

Detailed description

Schedule - Every Wednesday 10:15 - 12:15 (includes pre group setup & tidy-up)

Creative kids is a weekly session for parents/carers and pre-school children. The session aims are to encourage parents/carers and their children to hear a story followed by a craft activity related to the story. The sessions also provide a safe space for parents to ask questions about anything they have concerns about, find information and meet other parents. The session then utilises the remaining time for 'Stay and Play' allowing the adults to have a period of social engagement.

The principles of the sessions are:

  • To build parents confidence in encouraging their child’s literacy
  • To offer a weekly session of craft for children to enjoy
  • To offer a safe space for parents to ask questions
  • To be able to link parents to relevant information and services
  • To allow parents time to participate in a relaxed social environment following Creative kids, whilst the children can continue in play
