Little Discoverers
About Little Discoverers
What is Little Discoverers? We provide early education for pre-school children with movement difficulties and delayed development.
We aim to develop children's abilities and confidence in the pre-school years to prepare for life at home and for the next stage in their education.
We put parents at the forefront of their child's learning and development and acknowledge that parents know their child best.
We promote a three-way relationship between parent, child and specially trained Little Discoverers staff, to help each child reach their potential.
What do we do?
We provide a unique and holistic form of early education inspired by methods used at the Peto Institute of Conductive Education in Hungary. This form of education is designed to stimulate the child's senses and encourage self-learning through activities and experiences that are fun for both children and their parents.
Our specially trained staff work together in groups of up to eight children with their parent/carer during weekly sessions. Each session lasts approximately two hours including a short break for a drink and snack.
Each sessions activities are carefully planned to involve the children in programmes that address all aspects of their development (physical, social, emotional and understanding). These are chosen to make these sessions fun. Development is encouraged through play, songs, art and craft.
