Our volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live. Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.
As an Outreach Support Volunteer, you will play a pivotal role within the local community promoting our services and engaging with our service users and partner agencies.
Your role will be to support the team to engage and support individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple support needs including substance misuse issues. You will be responding to referrals, targeting known locations within the community actively engaging and building a positive relationship with people who are rough sleeping and beggars.
As part of a team, you will be working with partner agencies, signposting individuals, empowering and assisting them to access relevant services. Advocating for them and supporting them to achieve their goals and make positive changes as well as managing expectations of all involved.
Outreach can be fast paced and challenging role so you will need to be responsive and adaptable with the ability to work quickly and effectively. This role can involve working at times in adverse weather conditions carrying essential provisions such as food and drinks, you will need to be to be flexible and resilient.
No two days are the same and you can really make a difference in helping to keep people safe. You will be provided with all the skills, training and support to undertake the role. Supporting rough sleepers is really rewarding and you can make a real difference to somebody’s life. This is the perfect role for a sociable and outgoing person who wants to help their community.
