The Empowering Communities partnership are excited to let you know about an upcoming EDI workshop we have in the calendar. (This is the third in our series of EDI workshops but can be attended as a stand alone event).

Join expert facilitator Katie Allen to increase your knowledge, understanding and confidence around the topic of Allyship.

Taking place on Thursday 13th March 10:30am until 12pm online

What to expect:

  • A foundational understanding of allyship and what it means to act as an ally.
  • Developing a confident toolkit for challenge, expressing and role modelling desired behaviours.
  • Creating a common language of allyship, making difficult conversations easier.

Structure of session:

  • Introduction and psychological safety principles
  • The basis of allyship - it's a verb
  • Unpacking frames of reference
  • How to apologise
  • Exploring acts of allyship
  • Q&A: ask Katie anything! What makes you nervous? What terminology do people not understand?
