Cultural Connections - Grants available to support access to arts, culture and heritage.

Cultural Connections is a joint project between Great Yarmouth Borough and East Suffolk Councils with the aim of developing a sustainable volunteering programme across Great Yarmouth and East Suffolk, reducing barriers into volunteering and increasing social connectedness.

They have two small grants schemes aimed at encouraging greater volunteering and access in the arts, culture and heritage sectors:

1. Activation Grants are now available to fund organisations or groups of residents to hold small local or hyperlocal cultural events, and give people an opportunity to volunteer, participate and engage in their communities. It could be a street party, an arts or crafts event or an event that unifies diverse cultures.

2. Accessibility Grants are designed to help individuals and community groups overcome access issues, make volunteering more accessible to a broader range of people and break down barriers to volunteering. This is not exclusively for physical disabilities or even disability and do not want to be directive in our approach to these grants but be directed by any needs identified.
