Summary

Our King's Lynn town centre shop wants volunteers most days of the week to operate the till and process donated stock.

Detailed description

This shop is a popular one so we want volunteers who like helping customers with their purchases, taking payment and operating the till. And we need people to get donated clothes and other items ready to be put on sale. It's a good feeling to know that the money going into the till helps pay for hospice care. And you'll be able to use your own initiative to see and decide what needs doing to keep the shop floor and window display looking good.

We particularly like people who can be flexible and cover different days of the week, including Sundays. It would be great if you could make a regular commitment for the hours you're happy to come in - this could be as little as one or two hours at a time if you can't manage a full four hour shift. If you've worked in a shop before that's great - but if not, the friendly team will give you whatever training and support you need.

About Tapping House

The Norfolk Hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy Unit or via one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes.
The current services cost over £2.5 million per year to run; the NHS funds only 32% of this, with the majority coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
