Summary

Our Day Therapy team will shortly be starting a new session of circuit based exercises on Wednesday mornings - and they need more volunteer helpers.

Detailed description

As part of our Day Therapy team, you'll encourage and work with patients taking part in circuit based exercise. You'll need a level of physical fitness so that you can support this group in their activities.

The Circuit Exercise Group offers individualised programmes of short, circuit based exercises - with warm up and cool down and a mixture of actions.

It's a group programme, running weekly on Wednesdays - the next session will be starting soon. We aim to help patients gain physical benefits, like increased stamina or improved fatigue levels, better breathing control as well as the social benefits of making friends within the group and a chance to have fun.

About Tapping House

The Norfolk Hospice is committed to providing outstanding care for people in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses and to their carers, family and friends including bereavement support.
The support provided is tailored to the individual, encompassing their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an understanding, caring and compassionate way, ensuring dignity is maintained throughout.
Care is delivered at the hospice in Hillington, either in the Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy Unit or via one-to-one sessions at the hospice. Care is sometimes provided in people’s own homes.
The current services cost over £2.5 million per year to run; the NHS funds only 32% of this, with the majority coming from the support of local groups, businesses and individuals.
