Summary

To provide transport in your own car for Vision Norfolk clients in the Hunstanton/ Dersingham / Heacham area to activities, meetings and events in King's Lynn.

Detailed description

To provide transport for Vision Norfolk clients to and from activities, meetings and events organised by Vision Norfolk driving their own car.

This role would mostly involve transporting clients who live in the Hunstanton / Dersingham / Heacham area into activities in King’s Lynn. There is also a newly set up drop-in/coffee morning within Hunstanton, which happens once a month.

In this role you can act as a driver and just do drop off and pick up, or you can choose to attend the activities as well and support our clients throughout.

Activity Lists are sent out to volunteers regularly so they have the opportunity to let the Volunteer Coordinator know what they are available for in advance.

Drivers must possess a clean, full category B (car) driving licence. Any volunteer drivers must be aged at least 21 and have possessed their licence for at least two years. If a volunteer is aged over 70, a volunteer must meet the Group 2 medical standards required by the DVLA.

A clean driving licence is preferred, although minor driving convictions may not necessarily preclude a person from volunteering.

Our volunteers must be caring, able to communicate well and enjoy meeting new people, whilst helping our clients to remain as independent as possible.
