Summary
Our monthly archery sessions are a fun and popular sports activity with our clients.Detailed description
Our archery sessions are a popular sports activity with our clients. We are currently looking for volunteers who can:
- Help the archery instructor with the set up and packing up of the session
- Help clients to move around the space safely, mostly from their chair to the shooting line
- Keep track of scores and teams if needed (score cards can be provided)
- Help with providing refreshments for the clients
- Talk to / listen to our clients and make them feel comfortable in your company
- Report any incidents, accidents or near miss situations to the charity in line with our procedures
No archery experience is necessary as there is a fully qualified ArcheryGB instructor running the session, but we are looking for volunteers who are:
- Enthusiastic and supportive of the clients taking part
- Able to show a caring and kind attitude towards our clients, whilst helping our clients to remain as independent as possible
- Caring, good communicators and who enjoy meeting new people
Becoming a volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in your local community and to meet a wide variety of people from different walks of life. We also offer:
- Regular advice, support and training (including visual awareness training)
- Payment of out of pocket expenses agreed in advance
