Summary

The catering team at SHQ are a cornerstone of our charitable purpose. Our kitchen volunteers provide an outstanding service with a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Detailed description

The tasks of the catering team are many and various. It regularly provides a monthly cooked Veterans Breakfast that allows forty veterans to meet and enjoy each others company. Throughout he Summer months SHQ also hosts regular events that draw in veterans from throughout the region. We also provide a drop in facility on three days a week, where Tea, Coffee and Cake from our new kitchen are available.

Many of our volunteers are drawn from the local community so being a veteran is certainly not essential! Previous experience is not required and free training is available up to level two Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering standard. If you would like to know more please drop me a line or come along to SHQ West Raynham where our friendly volunteers will be happy to show you around.

About SHQ Veterans Centre West Raynham

The SHQ Veterans Centre at West Raynham is an initiative to regenerate a building that has been neglected for nearly 30 years, in doing so it is also helping to transform the lives of its volunteers. The Grade II Listed Station Head Quarters at the former site of RAF West Raynham is now being renovated by an enthusiastic band of volunteers in an effort to create an activity centre that will serve both the community and former members of the Armed Forces and the Emergency Services in the region. We are a friendly, all volunteer, group working together in many capacities to create a better future for West Norfolk. Please drop in and see what what we are doing.
