Summary
We are looking for a Storytime volunteer to help us with a story time for children on Saturdays from 2.00pm.Detailed description
You will be asked to deliver a regular story time session to encourage parents and their children to stop and listen to a story whilst visiting the library. This will involve:
- Choosing stories and preparing for the story session in advance
- Setting up the session and clear away at the end
- Reading stories to children and toddlers who are visiting the library with their carers
- Encouraging adults attending the session to choose books with their children at the end of the session
You will need:
- To have a good rapport with children and their carers
- Good communication skills
- To enjoy working with young children and wanting to help them enjoy reading
