Summary

We are looking for a storytime volunteer to help us on Wednesdays during open library times or on Saturday afternoons.

Detailed description

You will be asked to deliver a regular story time session to encourage parents and their children to stop and listen to a story whilst visiting the library. This will involve:


  • Choosing stories and preparing for the story session in advance
  • Setting up the session and clear away at the end
  • Reading stories to children and toddlers who are visiting the library with their carers
  • Encouraging adults attending the session to choose books with their children at the end of the session


You will need:


  • To have a good rapport with children and their carers
  • Good communication skills
  • To enjoy working with young children and wanting to help them enjoy reading
