Summary
We are looking for a songs and stories volunteer to help us on Wednesdays at 10.30am Sessions will last 45 minutes.Detailed description
You will be asked to deliver a regular songs and stories session to encourage parents and their children to stop and listen to a story and sing a few songs whilst visiting the library. This will involve:
- Choosing songs and a couple of stories to read aloud each week
- Setting up the session and clear away at the end
- Singing and reading stories to children and toddlers who are visiting the library with their carers
- Encouraging adults attending the session to choose books with their children at the end of the session
You will need:
- To have a good rapport with children and their carers
- Good communication skills
- To enjoy working with young children and wanting to help them enjoy reading
