We are looking for a volunteer to help with our activities for neurodiverse young people aged 11-15 that run on Thursdays afternoons from 5.30-6.30pm.

Detailed description

The purpose of this role is to assist in the delivery of a social get together for young people who are neurodiverse. The group is one that is pre-established and currently runs weekly. They would like to continue to meet every other week to enjoy some board games or a craft activity. Craft activities we've organised in the past include things like scrapbooking, bookmark making, origami or making fidgets. The library provide the space and can provide craft resources but we need someone to be a regular helper to make sure the group can continue to run smoothly. • Help set up any tables/chairs for the event

  • Talk to customers and where necessary pass enquiries to staff who can help locate specific items/sources of information within the library
  • Signpost other activities being held in the local area that may be suitable for those attending the group (information will be provided)
  • Collect and pass on any feedback about the event to members of staff

Volunteers will need to have the following skills to take on this role:

  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working with people/working with groups
