Summary
We are looking for an extra volunteer to help with our Colour Me Calm sessions on Fridays from 1:30pm - 4pm.Detailed description
Colour me calm is a group where adults come together and colour, allowing social connectivity. Studies show the activity of colouring reduces stress and anxiety by relaxing the fear centre of the brain. It has similar effects to meditating, therefore allowing a person to experience mindfulness and calm.
The purpose of this role is to help set up the session, welcome and support customers who are taking part, and tidy up afterwards. You will also help to monitor the equipment and supply of colouring sheets.
Volunteers will be asked to:
- Help to run and promote the group
- Ensure participants feel welcome
- Report to staff when more colouring sheets and equipment is needed
Volunteers should have the following skills:
- An Interest in creative activities
- Good communication skills
- Must enjoy working with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds
