Summary
Experienced Cook for our Community Cafe.
Detailed description
The Cafe runs every Mon 12-2pm, and caters for an average of 30 people. It offers home cooked, healthy meals, with a veggie option, dessert and unlimited hot and cold drinks.
The Cafe has been running succesfully for several years, it is run as a 'pay what you can' scheme in an effort to reduce food poverty. Age UK support the Cafe by coming in once a month to offer free advice and support. The Cafe also doubles as a wam hub, and aids in reducing social isolation.
You will need to stick to a weekly budget and plan meals accordingly. You will have assistants (including a volunteer from Assist Trust) to help you with serving and taking orders etc. Food Hygiene is preferred, but not essential, as training can be provided. You will be fully supported by our friendly team of staff and volunteers.
This role is an exiting opportunity to meet new people and gain experience working for a charity.
There is also an opportunity for a similar role on a Tuesday for our Phoenix Lounge.
If you would like to know more, please do get in touch.
