Summary

The volunteer research champion will support ECCH’s Research Team to help spread the word about the importance of research and make it more inclusive.

Detailed description

Responsibilities could vary depending on the interests and skills of the volunteer and the needs of the research team, but may include:

•           Helping to raise awareness of research by planning notice boards, organising and manning information stalls and speaking directly to patients in waiting areas.

•           Helping to organise and run events, forums and meetings. Tasks could include planning, manning stands and presenting information.

•           Helping to review information and publicity materials for patients to make them more inviting and easier to understand. This can include the content of leaflets, posters, websites and social media.

•           Supporting staff to help collect information about patients’ experiences of taking part in research (e.g. handing out questionnaires).

This role offers the opportunity to make a fantastic contribution to the work that ECCH do, as well as building your experience in research and event administration skills for a healthcare organisation.

The role is flexible depending on volunteer availability, usually during regular office hours. Most volunteers help for 2-4 hours per week, once a week. Occasional event support may be required outside of regular hours, but only if the volunteer is available.
