Summary

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival are looking for a Volunteer Director of Marketing & Communications to promote the Festival which takes place every September.

Detailed description

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival was founded back in 2011 to help raise money for the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust (then called the St. Nicholas Preservation Trust). In 2014 their first carnival parade began, this is proved to be one of their most successful events and this continues to this day. The aim is to encourage people from the many communities in the borough to participate in the many activities that make up the festival.


GYAF are looking for somebody who can help promote the festival externally and on the GYAF social media & website. This could include creating promotional content using computer software to scheduling social media posts or writing to local newspapers, contacting local radio stations etc. All of which help to further promote the festival.


This is a remote/hybrid post and it is anticipated that the time commitment is an average of 2-3 hours per but tending to be bunch around the leadup to the Festival.


Main Responsibilities:


·      Drafting and Creating Social Media Content.

·      Replying to any enquiries from the public on social media and email.

·      Organising Photographers and Videographers to capture media in our events, for further promotion.

·      Assisting with the creation and printing of the festival brochure, leaflet, posters and banners.

·      Nearer to the festival, creating email updates using our mailing list.


Requirements


·      Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 software including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

·      Excellent knowledge in social media promotion

·      Good knowledge of adding content to a WordPress website.

·      Excellent communication skills.

·      Excellent time management skills
