Summary

Breastfeeding Mum Meets is looking for a Social Media Volunteer to develop our social media presence. No experience necessary - just enthusiasm!

Detailed description

Would you like to build your portfolio and skills in marketing and social media whilst supporting a small charity working with breastfeeding families?

Breastfeeding Mum Meets is looking for a Social Media Volunteer to help build our social media presence.

Working with our Executive Committee, your main responsibilities would include:

  • designing eye-catching and engaging content for Facebook and Instagram, publicising both our work and our breastfeeding support message - posts can be based on content devised by the Executive Committee, but you'd also be welcome to come up with your own ideas if you wish
  • planning and scheduling posts on Facebook and Instagram, to ensure BMM has a regular social media presence
  • using hashtags and keywords on posts to enable BMM to feature prominently on our followers' feeds, and in search results

Experience with graphic design/image editing software (eg Canva) is desirable but not essential. Whilst prior experience in social media management would be fantastic, it is not essential - this opportunity might suit someone who is planning to work in social media or perhaps start their own social media business, enabling them to build their portfolio.

Although the charity is based in Norfolk, the role can be done 100% remotely. Timings are completely flexible: estimated total time commitment would be a few hours per month (spread out, at times which suit you).

No breastfeeding experience is necessary, although we do ask that you support our aims of Protecting, Promoting and Supporting Breastfeeding.

OPTIONAL: If you wish, the role can be expanded to a more general Digital Marketing position, to include maintaining our website, which runs on the WordPress platform, and/or taking responsibility for managing our new email mailing list.
